Mr. Luís welcomes those who pass by into his world of bees, following closely the rhythm of the apiary and the work that takes place around the hives. A close encounter with a quiet yet essential force of biodiversity.

What makes this visit unique?

Set within the Tapada Nacional de Mafra, a UNESCO-listed landscape, everybody is invited to wear a beekeeper’s suit, to step closer to the hive and discover its rhythm from within while enjoying one of Portugal’s best-preserved Mediterranean forests.

Throughout the visit, the honey-making process gradually unfolds among tools, wildflowers and thousands of bees in constant motion.
